Toddler programming beginning at 16 months

Chiaravalle has Toddler Montessori classrooms for children ages 16-36 months. Students come to school independently for 5 days. Parents have the flexibility to choose the length of day that's right for their family. Students may stay until 11:30 am, through nap until 3:00 pm, until 4:30 pm or until 6:00 pm.

Students are divided into homerooms: younger and older. DCFS regulations require that children younger than 24 months not be in a class with children who are 36 months or older, so our students are placed accordingly. Each age cohort includes a mix of children who stay different lengths of the day.

Loop with Head Teacher for a 2 year Toddler Experience

Toddlers who enroll as young as 16 months have the opportunity to have a multi-year experience with their teacher. The younger room Toddler teaching team will ‘move up’ to an older room teaching environment with their students in the second year. We believe allowing Toddler students and families the same chance to develop deep relationships with their teacher as happens in Early Childhood, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Middle School, will be beneficial to students, families and faculty, as well as being consistent with our educational goals and pedagogy as a Montessori school.

Options for Morning, All Day or just Three Days a Week

For families who would like a traditional three-hour morning class for their 24-36 month old child, Chiaravalle offers a Toddler 3 Day class Tuesday through Thursday. At this time, this class does not offer extensions for breakfast or lunch.
