2017
Chiaravalle is recognized as a 2017 U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School at a ceremony in Washington D.C.

The North Wing Takes Flight
2014
Chiaravalle breaks ground on the North Wing.
2015
The North Wing opens.
2016
Chiaravalle North Wing is awarded LEED Platinum status, making it the first independent school addition in Illinois and the first Montessori school in the country to achieve this honor.
A Permanent Home
2006
The Middle School moves to rented space at the First Congregational Church of Evanston.
2010
Chiaravalle purchases
425 Dempster from the city and finally owns its home, thanks to the donors of Phase I: Foundation.
2013
Phase II: Transformation is launched to fund the North Wing Project.
Middle School Opens
1992
The Middle School Program is inaugurated.
1995
Chiaravalle receives full accreditation from the American Montessori Society and the Independent Schools Association of the Central States.
1998
Chiaravalle receives a longterm lease to remain at 425 Dempster. The first Capital Campaign is launched for $500,000 to bring the building up to code and convert the attic into offices.
Elementary Program Begins
1976
District 65 sells the former Miller School at 425 Dempster to the City of Evanston for $1.00.
1980
Chiaravalle moves to 425 Dempster. The Elementary Program is initiated with a class of 20 Lower Elementary students.
Chiaravalle Montessori Founded
1965
Chiaravalle Montessori is incorporated by nine couples. The first teacher, Mali Dhanidina, opens the doors to 18 half-day students in the basement of Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Wesley Avenue.
1970
Chiaravalle leases space from Hemenway Methodist Church on Chicago Avenue.
1973
Chiaravalle moves to renovated space at Covenant Methodist Church on Hartrey Avenue to accommodate growing enrollment.
Parent/Child and Toddler Programs begin. Full Day options are extended.
