ALL ABOUT THE 2010-2011 ART PROJECT
The All School Art Project is important to Chiaravalle because it unites our entire community under one shared project, it allows students to use or wear their artistic creations with pride, and it helps fund the arts and drama programming and materials that our children love.
This year's theme is ... Animals!
Toddler Students made caterpillars by stamping the segments of a caterpillar with their fingers. Chiaravalle Parent Cara Herman studied varieties of butterflies to draw wings so that the caterpillars could evolve into beautiful butterflies.
-
- Early Childhood student caterpillar & butterfly
3-6 Students explored Animology.
If I were an animal, I would be... They chose their animal and, using the
Kids Can Draw series by Phillipe Legendre, students used simple shapes to complete drawings of the animal they chose.
-
- Lower Elementary student bird
Elementary Students drew birds either in captivity or in the wild. Students used a two color overlay technique to create depth with colored pencils.
-
- Lower Elementary student fruit still life
Middle School Students completed panels of pencil drawings to represent an evolution of an object into an animal.

- Upper Elementary student's colorful bird
