At Chiaravalle, we are deliberate about teaching children the importance--and the rewards--of social responsibility. Our youngest students quickly learn that being part of a classroom community means sharing the responsibility for keeping materials organized, watering plants and feeding animals. As students get older, they become involved in giving service to the whole school. Eventually, they engage in community service and/or fundraising projects that address local or global issues they have studied. Through these activities, Chiaravalle students learn that the things they value don’t “just happen,” but in fact require on-going support. They also experience the joy that comes from taking action in accord with one’s values.
In the same way, all adults in the Chiaravalle community share a responsibility for maintaining the excellence of its programs. Like all independent schools, Chiaravalle relies on voluntary contributions to meet its operating budget and fund strategic initiatives. On-going and generous support from parents, faculty, staff, grandparents, former families, alumni and other helps us to maintain what makes a Chiaravalle education special: Dedicated, well-qualified Montessori teachers. Developmentally-appropriate educational materials. Individualized attention.
Supporting your child’s education is no doubt a priority for your family. We invite you to explore ways you can become actively involved in the Chiaravalle community and demonstrate the value you place on education.
