The Foundation for a Strong Future

Phase II: Transformation

Through the extraordinary generosity of Chiaravalle community members, the school secured our future through the purchase of our beautiful Daniel Burnham building at 425 Dempster Street. With the accomplishment of Phase I: Foundations behind us, we are preparing to embark on the second phase of our long-term facilities plan.

In the 2012-2013 school year, faculty, administration, Board, and parents will work closely with the architectural team The Third Teacher + as they develop designs for a new North Wing to replace our aging annex. We envision the larger North Wing as an inspiring learning space that will transform the school, enhance programming at every level, particularly in physical education and the arts, and allow us to more fully live our values.

As we prepare to launch the Transformation Phase of our long range plan, we acknowledge the Chiaravalle community of supporters who have made our growth possible through the years.

Preparing the Environment

Phase 1: Foundations

In 2009, we reached a critical juncture in Chiaravalle’s history. The possibility to own our building became a reality. Phase 1: Foundations, a 5-year campaign to fund the purchase of our Burnham building and classroom renovations, raised $1.7 million, which is more than Chiaravalle had ever before achieved in one fundraising effort. Owning our home secured our future and enabled us to invest in improvements to the 2nd and 3rd floor. These transformations ensured that the quality of education Chiaravalle students receive is reflected in their daily classroom environment and laid the foundation for an even stronger future.

All gifts to the Campaign for Chiaravalle are unrestricted and will be used for capital, endowment, and programmatic purposes as designated by the school’s Board of Trustees.
