Chiaravalle Renovation Updates
Posted 6.21.10
The 2009-2010 school year has come to end, but we have a busy summer at Chiaravalle Montessori School. When the City of Evanston finalized sale of the brick building to our school this spring, we became permanent residents of the neighborhood. This summer, we are renovating the 2nd and 3rd floors in the original portion of 425 Dempster. On Thursday, June 10, movers emptied the contents of our 2nd and 3rd floor classrooms.
Please check back here for on-going photos of the renovation.
In the interest of safety, all construction workers will use the Dempster Street entrances and all parents, students, and staff will enter and exit the building using the swipe card entrance in Currey Park. Our receptionist is relocated to the 4th floor for the summer.
We take the safety of our students and neighbors during construction very seriously. The project team, including our Facilities Manager and the general contractor, has met to ensure that the construction site is maintained and tools and materials are inaccessible to students and the general public.
We are holding a small summer program for returning full day 3-, 4-, and 5-year-old students in areas of the building unaffected by our renovation work.
