Do you know why this is the nicest school? Because people are so nice to
me every day. If Chiaravalle had a college, I would go there.— Kindergarten boy talking to his mom
In a typical year, more than 350 children attend Chiaravalle. These children are part of approximately 280 families. Most of these families live in Evanston, Rogers Park, and the surrounding suburbs. Other families travel up to ten miles to find the right school experience for their children. Part of what makes Chiaravalle so special is how parents of diverse backgrounds come together to create a vibrant, learning community which honors children.
Another part of what makes Chiaravalle special is its community: parents, teachers, students, alumni, grandparents, and friends. Community involvement is critical to Chiaravalle’s success
and a key component in a Montessori education. The interest and participation
of the entire family in school activities and volunteerism reinforces and
enriches a child’s educational experiences. The presence and support
of the adults in a child's life demonstrates that education is a family priority.
