  • Part-Time Learning Specialist

    Chiaravalle Montessori is seeking a warm, encouraging, highly- skilled Learning Specialist. This part time role will begin August 26, 2013. Qualifications include a love of children, patience and expertise. Masters degree in Special Ed, Wilson training, reading endorsement and Montessori experience preferred. 5 years of working with students. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, relate well to adults and children, have excellent written and verbal skills, working knowledge of effective instructional methods, including differentiated instruction: multisensory, research-based instruction, and current neuro-based instruction.

    The Learning Specialist will be part of a team that will help identify, progress monitor and provide ongoing support to K-8 students with mild to moderate learning differences. Specialist will instruct students in small groups or on an individual basis as needed. Push in model is prioritized when appropriate. The Learning Specialist will facilitate the essential partnership between student, teachers, outside tutors and family by educating all parties on the child’s learning style, coordinating meetings and facilitating classroom and testing accommodations. The Learning specialist will also maintain relevant records, coach teachers and facilitate student transitions to high school or other programs.
